Our folk history is a vibrant and rich one. From ring games to digging songs to Mento music, Jamaica’s folk culture has left it’s historical traces in 21st century Jamaica, as evidenced by our reggae and dancehall music.
The woman who epitomises our folk culture is none other than the Honourable Louise Bennett-Coverley, affectionately known as Miss Lou by all Jamaicans.
